The Israel trail

The Israel trail crosses the country from the Lebanese border in the north to the Egyptian one in the south, more than 900 kilometers in length. On its way, it winds through the mountains of the Upper Galilee, the hills of the Lower Galilee, lake Kinneret ("Sea of Galilee"), the Carmel Mountain, the Coastal Plains, the Jerusalem Hills and the Negev Desert, ending in the Gulf of Eilat.

In the last few years it has become a trend for Israeli youngsters to walk the whole length as a challenge, before joining the army service or right after completing it.
Older people, who can't "disappear" from work for two months or so, walk the trail in portions, until they complete it.

I offer tailor-made trips of any length of the trail, from one day to two weeks.

In addition, I offer three two-weeks portions that cover the whole length of the trail. These portions, which are suitable for very fit hikers only, should be booked one year in advance. The price covers my guiding and a car that brings the gear to the camping sites, (or a jeep where the terrain is not passable for regular cars). It doesn't cover accommodations beyond outdoor camping. It does cover food, on a picnic basis of three meals a day.

A Guided Trek on the Israel National Trail
Crossing the Negev Desert from Mitzpe Ramon to Eilat January 5th – 18th 2012

Jebel Um Ishrin

The Israel National Trail (INT) crosses the country from the Israeli northern border with Lebanon, to the southern one with Egypt. It is over 900 kilometers long and goes through a variety of landscapes.

We devided the trek into three sections, of 11-14 walking days each, and we already had a successful start on the northern section, where we walked from the Lebanese border to Caesaria. This time we'll head south crossing the entire central and south of the Negev Desert!

We will camp outdoors, and have nice meals cooked for us by the staff. Our camping gear and all the stuff we don't want in our day packs will be brought to the campsites with an accompanying car. For people who will choose to stay some of the nights in a guest house for an additional fee, we will provide reservation services and transportation from the trail and back when there will be a possibility.

The price for the whole trip is 1100$, including guiding, meals and the accompanying car. Staying some nights in a room will cost extra, 180$ per night in a single room, 120$ in a double. There is an option to join for shorter sections. For detailed information regarding those sections and their prices please contact me.
